Historians have different versions of the early development of Mykonos. All early phases of
Greek history are a rich mixture of fact, legend and myth. Myth tells that both Hercules and Poseidon battled great giants
who opposed Zeus while on the island of Mykonos.
The name
Mykonos came from Apollo's grandson Mykons. Later the island of Mykonos,
which is very close to the island of Delos, became a principal supply
Island. However is has always been considered a major tourist
attraction due to it's shear beauty and rich history. |
